Cardiology heart team

The range of interventional (invasive) cardiology services includes all currently recognized diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures. Invasive cardiology includes examinations and therapeutic measures in which catheters are inserted into the heart cavities or coronary vessels via a small arterial access in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. This allows functional, anatomical and hemodynamic measurements to be taken.

Our competencies in interventional cardiology

  • Hemodynamic evaluation of simple and complex heart problems

  • Diagnostic procedures (coronary angiographies, endomyocardial biopsies, intracoronary physiology and imaging, right heart catheterization and hemodynamic evaluation)

  • Coronary revascularizations and stent implantations (incl. complex situations such as chronic occlusions, multi-vessel diseases and hybrid interventions)

  • Interventions in structural heart disease (PFO, ASD, atrial ear closure, etc.)

  • Catheter-based valve therapies (TAVI, percutaneous mitral and tricuspid valve treatments)

  • 24-hour service for acute interventions (heart attack, other cardiac emergencies)
