HeartTeam of Rhythmology

Cardiac arrhythmia is an abnormal slowing or acceleration of the heart rate; the generic term "arrhythmia" covers a wide range of diseases. Harmless extra beats are usually normal and need not be alarming.

Atrial fibrillation, on the other hand, is a change in the electrical excitation of the heart, in which the heart usually beats too quickly and, above all, irregularly. Atrial fibrillation, the most common arrhythmia of all, can increase the risk of stroke and reduce the heart's performance. A typical symptom of atrial fibrillation is the sensation of palpitations or palpitations. These symptoms must be eliminated during treatment.

All other arrhythmias, including atrial flutter, reentry tachycardia ("short circuits") and ventricular arrhythmias are also treated by our team.
